  • Washable (bonus!)

  • The pouch can be securely attached to you (either via waist belt or clip.)

  • The pouch should be accessible on your body but should not inhibit body movement (such as bending over or being active in your movements)

A few favorites are:

Alternative to purchasing a treat pouch, you may want to consider a couple of DIY options to get you by.

  • An old fanny pack (they are in style…)

  • Wearing a loose sweatshirt and using the front pouch pocket (#comfy!)

  • A tool belt

  • A Server apron

  • A side purse

  • Or whatever else you can find that feels comfortable.

What to put in the pouch…?🤔

Step 1. Get to know your dog. Find what food preferences they have. What is a high-value food reward vs a medium or low-value food reward?

  • CAUTION: avoid offering toxic foods (for example raisins, grapes, avocado, onions, chocolate).

  • Ask your vet for a complete list of toxic/harmful foods to avoid giving your dog.

Step 2. Create a mix of High value to medium-value food rewards in your treat pouch.

  • Training treats should be cut into small bite-sized pieces - think pea to bean size.
